I went to the interview for my citizenship. I had a waiver in order to received my greencard. The guy that did the interviewed said my waiver should it never been approved.
I got my greencard in 2000 and it took about 7 years to get while I was married becauseI had criminal records.
Real marriage, no fraud, but I had criminal cases and they didn't like that. So my husband got a waiver.
They had the paperwork from the cases. Back to when I was 20 and 21 I believe, I can't remember, I am so mentally tired and overwhelmed. I wasn't even guilty on the desposotions
My attorney said he ask the office and that my case is going to be denial plus they want to take the green card. I been here since 1994, cases criminal were 95 and 97.
It's hard to remember details on stuff over 20 years ago. I do not have the letter yet saying what are they claiming in order to take it away but I don't understand.
I have 3 children all american citizens. Under 5 years old and i am single mom, I have so much on my daily life already, my life is hard, and dealing with this is just awful.mWhat can happen?what about ny kids. Two of them don't even have a dad.
Please I need advice, the charges were for prostitution I worked at an escort service. I should say that in fact some of the things on the police report are not even accurate but they threaten me with ins when I was arrested and I was ilegal and 19 years old at the time, I was scare and signed the papers from the cops. Can I reopen does cases ?
I don't know what to do?
Now my attorney says he is retiring and this will take years. here I al waiting for a letter for aparently a denial and removal. I have nowhere to go, my kids go to school, my son is autistic and in several therapies. What can I do? Venezuela is a disaster and I have nobody there.
I didn't commit fraud. They knew about it and had my paperwork. I don't understand. I know the guy at the interview said, that I should it never gotten the waiver. He was upset about it.
Please help. Everytime people see the case or the word prostitution, everyone looks down at me, I was so young, barely spoke english and had a bad situation. I am over 40 years old, pass 15 years I worked for non profit agencies, I managed to go to school, I do good for the community with a lot of things. Involve in a lot of groups.
I am not a bad person or a criminal.
Please help. I have very small children and I don't know what would happen to them. They have their routines and my son his therapies.

Any crimes after the waiver was granted? Did you lie on you waiver application?

If both are no then you should be ok. They should only look at the last 5 years.

I didn't lie. They had all my paperwork from my charges. I am so confused with all of this. No letter from them yet.

I would search for an immigration attorney that has a great reputation. Maybe get a recommendation from your one who is retiring. However, that being said, he may not be that good, seeing he is retiring and gave you vague answers.

I would have to believe you should be able to get through this but that's my uninformed opinion which doesn't mean much.

If I was in your position, I would just pony up with the $$$'s and get the best immigration lawyer who has demonstrated experience in dealing with situations like this.

Ty. I really believe they guy that did the interview didn't like me and looked down on me for something that happened over 20 years ago.

That maybe, but you can't risk anything, so you have to ask yourself, how much is your citizenship worth? Find the best immigration lawyer who can demonstrate to you he/she has experience in successfully dealing with this and hire them.
