Problem with Oath of Allegiance

I am sorry if this has been discussed before; I have not been able to find any thread.

My question is: Does the Oath of Allegiance contradict with "dual citizenship"?
Listen to this: "...I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen."

Doesn't it mean that if I keep my old citizenship, or gain a new citizenship, I would be breaking my oath? Will I lose the US citizenship, then?

A somewhat related question is: can anyone request to give up US citizenship and change back to GC? Or does it have to involve a petition?...I don't know if anybody has ever done it. Just a question in theory, I guess.

if the other country allows dual citizenship, dont worry. Some people have 3 citizenship. Dont take everything literally.

The concept of dual citizenship depends on your country of origin. In other words, the US can't take away your foreign citizenship. Pledging allegiance dos not break any laws and you wont automatically loose your foreign citizenship.

Once a citizen, you can renounce US citizenship, but you don't get LPR status back. You would have to reply for LPR status.
