Problem when e-filing EAD

At the last stage of efiling my EAD renewal when I hit the finish button the USCIS website gave me an error and did not generate the pdf file. But I did print out the receipt page with the case number on it.

But here is the part where I think I screwed up. I assumed that the efiling did not go through and did it again - this time I was successfully. Now I am afraid my credit card might get charged twice.

Did anyone else go through anything similar? Please let me have your feedback. Thank you.

My lawyer file my eEad and had the same error problem. She called the 1-800 # and confirmed that it did go through.

I'd recommend that you call them at the 1-800 # and explain what happened. You may very well have been charged twice.

Don't worry. Your application is filed and is good. That error is normal. You get it if you filed after hours. Its a known bug on the website. The only issue with that is you will not be able to print a copy of your application for your records. If you have taken a print out of your case# and info then go ahead and schedule an appointment for Digital Photo and index finger print.

If you don't have any info about your case, then go ahead and file again during business hours. Then call IRS at the number provided in your application and ask them to cancel your previous application. Tell them about the error you got on the web site and they will cancel it. BE CLEAR ON WHICH APPLICATION TO KEEP AND WHICH ONE TO CANCEL.

TO GET REFUND, BOTH YOUR APPLICATIONS SHOULD MATCH EXACTLY. IF ANY OF THE FIELDS ARE FILLED OUT DIFFERENTLY THEN DON"T WORRY ABOUT CANCELLING.

no need to panic. I did the same on 4th and got one of my applications cancelled and they said they will send a refund.

Same happen with me charged twice

Filed on 12/14/04 in evening got error clicked on view/edit button and submitted again succesfully thinking that the previous application won't go through also on my second application I added the EAc # of 485 which I forgot to put in first attempt.

They are not refunding me saying I did not get any error and Bot application has one field different. When First attempt did not go through I tried second and added EAc # thinking that might be problem.

What should I do charge back or is their anyway I already email them they replied cannot refund...
