Hi
I would really appreciate if anyone can help me with one thing. We got our passport stamped last month and we have visa till march 2008 for landing. The problem is i got pregnant after our interview and cannot travel because of my medical condition. We wanted to have this child in canada, but now the conditions have changed.the question is that this child would be an American citizen.can we travel with that child without entering him into the application?do you think their would be any problem?if anyone knows any thing please help me with that.
thanks in advance.

You have to land in Canada before your family status changes (i.e. before the baby is born). Otherwise your papers become void, you have to ask for new papers (which takes time) and so on...In short, this situation should be avoided to avoid a lot of pain in the future.

Thank you very much for your help......you have really saved us.It took 2 1/2 years for us to get the PR so we cant wait any more.
Thanks again

Hi I have one more question if you dont mind..........What if my husband who is the main applicant lands first and me and my two daughters land after the baby is born. The baby would be an american citizen and can he or she can travel on his or her passport? Is there any possibility? Our landing papers are valid till march 2008.
Thanks in advance

In this case that you have described above, your husband will become a PR without any problem. However there will be a problem for you. May be u did not understand my first reply. For you in this case, the landing papers will become invalid since you will attempt to land after your family status change. Once your family status changes before you land, the landing papers need to reflect the change. (your papers will not reflect this change - the baby's addition to your family - hence they will not be valid for landing purpose.)

Thank you for your advise........we are moving before the baby is born. Now we will only have problem with the health insurance as it takes three month to get that, and my baby is due in last week of aug.
thanks

You can land, complete your landing formalities and then return to the US to deliver your baby. I am assuming you have insurance in the US.

But she wants the baby's birth in Canada. That's the problem she is talking about, I believe.

There is one way out. Land in Alberta or Saskatchewan. This way, you will have your health coverage right from the day you land in the province.

Whats the advantage of baby born in Canada than USA

Hi,
Can you tell me, the advantage, why you want the baby born in canada?

People normally want baby to be US citizen rather than canadian citizen.

thanks

I was wondering about the same thing.

I very much want this child to be an American citizen but as you have mentioned that the landing papers would be invalid so that is why i am moving.I am really really confused and upset on this condition and state.Do you think i should call the Buffalo office or the Los Angeles office to seek advice. One of the lawyers told me that you can land with the baby on his or her passport and then you can add or sponser him or her after you land there but on the other hand she told my husband not to do so. I am really confused.
