Problem in name spelling

Hi,

One of my friends has been selected in DV-2008. The problem is that the spelling of her name in the notification letter slightly differs from her name written in her passport. In other words, she made a mistake in typing her name when she was participating in the DV-2008. Instead of "oo" in her name, she typed "ou" in the lottery initial forms.

The question is whether she might encounter a problem in the process of lottery. What should she do to correct the problem? Should she write the correct spelling of her name in DSP-122 and DS-230 forms?

Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks a lot

This can be a problem in the future..But there is a solutuion to eliminate it:

- She should fill the forms DSP 122 and and DS 230 with the names as they appear on her passport. Once KCC will receive the forms they will edit the names and include her files. Please advised that KCC cannot change the original entry due to security reasons, they will just edit. Her edited name will take place on the documents which will be sent to related consular mission by KCC for further processing and interview .

- It is better if she writes a letter explaning her mistake and send the forms to KCC along with this letter.

Call KCC and confirm what I am recommending..

Good luck..!
