Priority dates and 485 approvals

To get FP and get 485 approved, do I need to have my PD current?
Please throw some light on this.

I don\'t think to get FP your PD needs to be current as we have seen few people getting FP with pd not current. To get an approval pd has to be current.....

To get FP, your PD does not have to be
current. To get your 485 approved, your
PD has to be current.
