hell,
Could anyone please tell me what is priority date ? I filed my LC in oct 2001. I recently received FP notice. Priority date mentioned on that noice is I-485 received date . Is this correct ? My assumption was priority date is LC filed date.

thanks

You are correct.

Hi, you are absolutely correct. The PD is the date your Labour Cert application for an I-140 petition was received by the local INS office ( usually in your state's capital ). I would not worry about it though, from now on we are all in the same boat regardless of our PD's which only determines the date you can file your 485 petition.

PD is only really important when visas are unavailable. They are current right now, so it goes by I485 receipt date. TSC is very strict on processing applications in chronological order.:D :D

thanks for your input. I am not worried about PD. I am trying to figure out how TSC sends FP notices. Is it based on RD or PD?
I filed I-485 in Dec 2002 , got FP notice scheduled on Jan 12,2003. Since, am working overseas i sent a reply (through my friend in US) for rescheduling. They sent notice again exactly after a week . I again sent a reply for rescheduling. Guess what, they again sent a notice , scheduled on Marh 8th. I wont be in US till end of march.
I dont know what to do ? Should i keep sending reply for rescheduling?

thanks.

I would send it again....

FP **should** be based on ND of the 485 application and nothing to do with PD. FP should be an indication that the file is moving toward adjudication. However, this has not happened at TSC and many cases were skipped for FP and newer files, like mine and others were assigned FP and adjudicated.
