Priority date current but i-130 not approved yet

Hi all,

My friend filled i-130 for his brother in november 2001,the priority date is current but he hasen't recieved i-130 approval notice yet.Online case status shows the same thing.

Is it possible that they forgot to update or is something wrong?

Any suggestion will be appreciated.Thank you.
 
It doesn't hurt to call NVC and see with the receipt number if incase it was approved and sent to them, may be your friend moved after filing and never received the approval. I would not trust online system as the case was filed in 2001.
If all else fails, make a info pass and have them look into it.

Thank you for your valuable advice.I called NVC and they are saying that they don't have any record regarding the file.USCIS are not saying anything.Guys anymore advice other than taking info-pass.
