Based on my i-485, I am applying for the EAD (online-form) i-765 for the first time and e-file i-765 form asks if I applied for EAD before.
The i-765 form says “If you have made multiple applications for Employment Authorization, please give details. Applied at which BCIS office? Date applied ? approved/denied? Etc”
I have questions for you regarding the following:
1) Once I graduated (M.S.) in 1999, I used the OPT (optional practical training) card for my employment for about 1 year.
2) In Oct 2000, I got my H-1 valid up to Oct 2003
3) Oct 2003, I renewed my H-1 again valid until Oct 2006.
I do not remember what I had to do to get the OPT card in 1999, back when I graduated with my M.S. degree. (My university immigration office helped me in the OPT card’s application )
When I asked my company Immigration person about this, she told me that my latest H-1 is my latest work authorization! So she asked me to include in the i-765 form that I had employment authorization thru my H-1 in Oct 2000, and Oct 2003 (renewal). I am not fully satisfied with that answer and am a bit confused.
Can someone who recently applied for EAD (online or paper) i-765 form clarify?
