Previous Passports

Hi there,

to all who passed the interview, did the consular asked you for previous passports, or just a valid passport?

My friend had this week the interview at USCIS because she did AOS and was asked for previous passports. She 2 passports with her but they asked for evn older ones and she stated she didn't have them.

The ones she had was an expired passport with her valid visa in it and her new valid passport....since she is approved now she doesn't need her old passport anymore...:)
 
they asked her to know if she is legal in US or not because she had expired pass.

but what about outside US
 
what if the speeling name in english different from old passport to the new one?
Lets say your name in the old passport is Michel and the new one is Mikel?


but in the native language the same speeling will that be a problem?
 
Partly, they also wanted to see the stamps she got during all her travelling. She used to travel a lot for her sports and they even asked her in what year she had been in certain countries. (She has been in over 30 countries) She gave the right answers so that was enough, also she never visited any countries that are related to anything against the USA, so that wasn't a red flag.
