previous EAD and future OPT

Hi

I was previously on a J2. I had an EAD based on my J2 status on which I was employed.
I stopped using my EAD, the moment i submitted my change of status to F-1 application. So i have not worked illegally
I was approved for an F-1 about a month ago (8 months prior to graduation in may 07).
I am currently doing an internship on CPT (which will end in a month).

My question is, will i have any problems obtaining OPT when i graduate in may 07?

From what i have researched i should qualify as i have been a lawfully enrolled student for more than one year (though only 8 months on F-1). Can someone confirm this.

Also will having a previous EAD effect my OPT? I know you have to mention previous EADs on your I-765 although it was on a different status.

Thanks

Who is eligible for OPT?

An F-1 student who is eligible to apply for OPT must have been in lawful F-1 status for one full academic year prior to applying for OPT.

You have to be in F-1 status for a full academic year. Now, what is the definition of a full academic year - full calendar year or two semesters? Ask at your international center.

Other than that, your previous J-2 EAD has no effect on OPT.
