hello,

I changed jobs 6 months back because of layoff in compnay A. Now with company B. Wife and I had valid visa stamps till May 2005 with company A.

I did get my approval with company B from Jan - jul 2005 and my 7th year extn from jul 2005 - jul 2006.

my wife is going for her h4 interview with both approval notices (2005 and 2005-2006). Is this an issue? I did see another post in murthy.com that H4 was given 221g, cos principle applicant's visa in passport was from a different company.

please advice.

I don't think so ... I've traveled many times with old company's H1 stamp in visa & with new company's H1 approval -- never was asked a question.

I would suggest that your wife have only the latest approval notice - don't carry old notices - they have no meaning now and it will only confuse the person at the consulate.
Don't carry old employment information or anything .... just have whatever is the current information.

Its a well accepted fact that you do NOT need a new visa stamp just because you changed your employer. I suspect that there was more to that case (with 221G) than what was mentioned.

Thanks for you reply Max. The thing that concerned me was, in immihelp it was mentioned "If applying separately, Copy of principle applicant's VALID visa".

since mine (or ours) had exprired by now..so was wondering..........

Thanks again, good to know that someone got thru with same scenario...
