I am in the status of "Preadjudicate - Under Review". Any Approvers/Non Approvers had/have the similar kind of status ? Can someone tell me what exactly it menas?

Dude, not to break your heart or discourage you, but different IOs use different terms and different statuses..When i called them a few weeks ago, they said that my applicationw as also "Pre-adjudicated and under review" but when I called them again last week they said that it is pending and it wasn't pre-adjudicated...so you can't really accept what they say in its face value.
But to answer your question, it means that your application is ready for approval and needs an officer to put his/her stamp of approval on it for visa issuance....

Well, it can only be good news....traditionally 485 follows these steps, in this order, for approval,

1) Namecheck Pending
2) Namecheck Cleared, waiting to be assigned to Officer
3) Assigned to officer for Review for anywhere from 1 week to 60 days...
4) Approval or RFE etc...

I talked to lady IO 3 Days back and she said my name check is done and my case is under review and will not get approved until october due to non availibility of visa numbers. I asked her if my case is assigned to officer and she said no.

What does that mean?

What about FP? I believe that FP needs to be active in order to be assigned to the officer.....
the more I know about this process the more confusing and complicated it gets...I wonder how the IOs keep up with it

As far as my experience concerned so far, i got very consistent information 3 times. 2 times I called to TSC center and 1 time I got the same information from Infopass . The guy at infopass told me that, your case status showing as "Preadjudicate- Under review" and also he told me that he do not know what preadjudicate means. So I strongly believe that I am in that status -
but not sure whether its being assigned to Officer or not. By the way, first time TSC IO told me the same status and also he told me that visa number has been assigned to my case.

My details:

PD Jan 2004
RD Sep 2004
TSC Transfered on 13thMay 2007
2nd FP - 9th May 2007

Today i called and they said the case is assigned with Officer...

Does that mean that the case is pending with the officer.?

pending with officer = assigned to officer.

That's what I have been told when I asked the TSC IO for clarification on what "pending with officer" means.
