PR visa stamping in-person in LA ?

Hi

I got PPR request in September and unfortunately I'm in India on a business trip as of now. I was granted extension till Jan'07 to submit my passport for stamping. However, my project in India is still not over, so I'm planning to take few days vacation, go to LA and get passport stamped and come back. Does any one know how long will it take to get back the passports if I go personally to LA embassy? Any one who has experienced this? Also, can I immediately land in Canada after stamping for a day and come back?

Please advise.

Hi,

I am not familiar with LA consulate. Our case is in NY consulate and we just went last week to submit our PP for stamping. In NY consulate, we have to submit the PP only on Thursday bet. 8.30-10.30 am in the morning and collect it the following Thursday bet. 1.30-3.30 pm in the afternoon. Pls check the LA consulate's website for specific instructions related to tht consulate.

So we submitted our PPs last week and plan to go to the consulate tomm. to collect the PPs with the stamped visa. Just one question. Did u apply on ur own or thro' a lawyer. If u went thro' a lawyer and if the mailing address is the law offices address, u need a No Objection letter fm the lawyer stating tht the consulate can hand over the stamped PPs to u directly. If u applied on ur own, u won't have this issue.
