Folks, I am getting ready to file the N400.

I was reading in this forum that the PR date shown in PR card may not be always accurate...I have the same date in 485 approval notice.

Am I safe to use that date ? Or how can i can confirm that it is the same date shown in USCIS system. Tried to call USCIS ...could not go thru telephone system (it kept prompting me to automatic msg or dropping me off). If you guys know, how i can bypass this and talked to live person, please let me know.

I am going to file my documents with 5 years minus 90 days rule ( i will add 5 days to minimize any year count issue)...want to make sure the date, I am counting from is THE DATE in USCIS system.

Thanks for your help

Go with the date stamped on your permanent resident card, that is the safest.

If the date on your card is the same as the date on your approval notice, and you have no reason to believe the date is wrong (like the card date being before you gave fingerprints), trust the date on the card.

The date in their system could be wrong; you'll only know for sure if you see your A-file. But having a wrong date on the card is a rare exception, not the rule. Trust the card date if you don't know of any papers or events that would make the date a bogus one.
