Hey friends,
I need some info.

My wife and I landed canada last year. Then we came back to USA. I used one of my relatives address at POE.
Last month I got my PR card by mail but they sent one mail stating that my wife need to go at immigration office in Ottawa, CA to pick PR card as the pic was not correct.
The PR pickup date was yesterday so we missed the date.

Do I need to send any letter to them to let them know that I could not attend for the interview ? I tried to call them but that number is local and need to be accessed from canada.

Now what should I do ?
I am thinking to request travel document for my wife from buffalo and send her their to pick up PR card. Now if she gets in canada can she just go there and pick up the card ? or she needs to stay there for couple months.
Do you know any one in similar situation ? Please give me some suggestion.

I dont think you need a travel doc to go to canada since you guys are US. You can go to canada using landing doc. She can go to the office and pick it up anyday 6 months from the date the card was ready. After that the card is destroyed and you have to apply for new card again.

That is what I was told by a canadian immigration agency.
 
You need Travel Document ONLY if you traveling by COMMERCIAL VEHICLE .....meaning by air/bus/train...but if you are driving down there in a private vehicle; you can still use your landing paper to enter Canada unless it has been stamped by Canadian authorities that it is not valid for travel.

As per my information; you can pick up your PR card anytime before 6 months from the date of issuance of the PR Card.

When you are landed then canada always stamp "not valid for travel". And we also got that stamp. So I guess I have to take travel doc.
Now they did not tell me that PR card is ready. They just let me know that the pic is not in correct format. So is that argumet valid that we can pick it up anytime before 6 months expired ? 6 months from when ?

----- if you landed after June 28,2002 then they will take the Photograph and will send the PR card by mail to Canada address no need to pick up again going to Canada. This has happened with many if the photograph is not correct they send letter for Photograph to be taken, once they take Photograph they will make a card for your wife and will send it to Canada address and your relative can then send the PR card to you in US through FedEx
 
One of my friend landed in Canada on Nov 25. Surprisingly they did not take her photo at the border. their explanation was that her photo appears in the landing document and they do not need to take any more additional photos. Even though she insisted at the time of landing, they said they will scan that photo to prepapre her PR card. She has not received her PR card till today. Any clue what she should do now. She came back to USA just after landing in Canada. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
