Hi,

I landed in Canada on 07/27/03.The landing process was very smooth.Everything was done in 15/20 mints.I gave my friend's add for my PR card.( I did this as I was about to come back to US the next day ) .

Now here the immigration officer said that

I will ne notifed by mail , when my PR cards are ready for pick-up.
She said after that I have to go in person to collect them.

I have never heard or read , for some one going in person to collect Cards after the notification in mail

Does this happen ??or Will the cards come in mail ?Is there a new rule for pick-up ?

Would appreciate any thoughts/reply

Thanks
Sandeep

---- I hope she provided you wrong info, your PR card will be sent by mail to the address that you provided

--- Card should come in mail, wait for few days 20-30 days and if you don’t get PR card by mail write a letter to PR card processing unit and inform them your landing date, passport # landing paper, landing POE, full name, DOB Or attach copies of LP and Passport so that they have every info, write the letter send it to your friend in Canada and from Canada he can mail it to PR card Processing unit (Registred mail).

--------If you return to US from Canada you only face BCIS (legacy INS), they will check your valid US Visa and your valid I-94 (if you still have valid I-94 in your passport and your trip to Canada was less then 30 days, no need of new I-94) if you have valid visa and no I-94 you will get new I-94, they may ask you: have you bought anything, what you do in US, when did you go to Canada what was the purpose of trip, you can the truth that “I came to complete Canada PR landing process”
