PR Card pickup documents

Hi

My sister is a candian landid immigrant. Right now she is working in US on H1B. She applied for her PR card and got letter to pick it up till certain date.

My question to all who are on H1B and working in US, what documetns PR office checks when you go to pickup your card. If its your passport only, doesn't it have H1B stamp and they ask about it? Please share you experience. Thanks
 
She should take her passport, Letter that CIC sent and landing paper, they just match the name and DOB from documents. If she has any other ID with photograph she can show it if asked. They do not care if you have H1b stamp no questions about any visa in your passports they just match the identity.

Would you please post the date when she sent her PR card application?
When she got the letter to pick up the card
When she is supposed to pick up the card

It will help others to guess for the time it takes to get PR card from sending application to receiving PR card
 
Also Does the CIC letter mention how to change the date of pickup and how to do it, especially if one is out of Canada.

please also ask how much time they are taking at this time as some one posted on other site that now PR card is taking 12 to 15 weeks from date of sending the appplication.

I hope if one is out of Canada after applying PR card he/she can come back using landing paper before 31 December 2003 if one is out after 31 December then nearest Canada consulate will provide one time travel document for travel to Canada

I called 1 800 255-4541 and here are he answers:

1) How much time it should take for PR Card process?

Ans: 8 to 12 weeks. Could be sooner.

2) Can I reschedule the pickup date?

Ans: Yes. The first letter will ask you to pickup the PR Card on a certain date. If you dont then you are automatically rescheduled and they will send you a 2nd letter. If still you cannot keep the appointment then You need to fax in request to reschedule. Of course you can do the same after getting first letter. One thing he said was that you cannot request a specific date. You just request a particular period (eg. 4rth week on May) and they will try and accomodate your request. But you have to collect the Card within 6 months.

3) Can I come back using my Landed documents while my PR card is being processed.

Yes. But before the December deadline.
