When a new comer land in Canada for the first time, Do the immigrant get his PR card in the mail or he have to pick it up later with appointment letter ?? If he receive it in the mail is it register or a regular mail? Thanks
 
So who have to pick-up his/her PR card by appointment letter at the Immigration office.

So anybody landed in 2003 or will be landed in 2004 or 2005 his/her PR card will be mail to his/her address in Canada and does not have to worry about pick up the card at immigration office. Please correct me if my statement wrong. Any feed back to confirm this will be appreciated. Thanks to all.
 
Any link from CIC about mailing the PR Card.?
Do the CIC take the picture at the port of entry or the applicant just mail his/her picture with the application?
Do the CIC take my address in Canada or I can give them my address in Canada at the time I land, so they can mail me the PR card?
How about the insurance card, can I apply as soon as I land then I’ll receive the card after three months or I have to wait three months after I land to be eligible to apply?

only apply for an Insurance card if you are living in canada as it is only for residents of canada and by applying applying for it you are signing for being a resident in canada and will be liable for taxes in future .

If you are not living in canada , just land and come back or open a bank acct at max .
 
how long b4 i get my PR card

hi,
can anyone please tell me how long does it take b4 i received my PR (canada) card from the mail. i just landed last week from USA and im planning to go back in my native country. i need to know so i can book my flight as early as possible to get a cheaper plane fare. thank you so much.
