PR application with an HRDC validated job offer

Hi

Can anyone advise me? My husband has an HRDC validated job offer from his current company's Toronto site. However, his job with the company here in the UK is now redundant. We are therefore under pressure from them to move to Toronto straight away or risk losing both the job offer and his current income.

Does anyone know what the current processing times in the London High Commission are?

Is it true that our application for permanent residence is not going to be speeded up by an HRDC validated job offer?

Of course, we realise that the answer, whenever it comes, may well be no but are there any other routes open to us if we wanted to take a risk and make the move anyway?

For example, can we apply for a temporary work permit? Or are we locked out from this now that we have applied for a PR visa?

Help! Any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

Jacquelyn,

If I am not mistaken, your husband can apply for an employment visa and enter Canada. Once you enter Canada, you can file for your Canadian Immigration from Canada. However I am not sure as to how the consulate will act in granting the Employment visa, since there is an unlying application for PR.

When my PR application was pending, I was able to obtain a Visitor Visa to Canada. There is no harm in trying.

Goodluck!! and keep us updated as to how things went at the Consulate if your husband decides to apply for an employment visa.
