PP stamping

I recently received my I485 approval. However, as I have recently moved, the INS centre listed on the notice is from earlier c/o address in East Coast. Can I take this notice to the local INS in San Jose or any other INS center ? Would there be any problem ?

Hi ciba (and others)

I have similar case. My case got approved from NSC, but currently I am in bay area at client site.

With your previous answer, I assume I can go to any INS local office. I don\'t know anything about bay area, so can you please let me know how many local INS office in bay area do passport stamping? I found two (San Jose and San Francisco) at Ciba\'s site. Any recommendation which one is good.

All suggestions are welcomed and also let me know if there can be any complications.

Thanks

Hi Ciba and others I have one question when you go to INS for passport stamping can we give someone else permanent address.
I live in apartment and there are chances of moving & think it is safe to give different address as it takes long time to get plastic card. Is this possible to give address of east coast when you are going for stamping in west coast.

Hi BJ

If you have already stamped, can you please share your stamping experience.

I am still waiting for my approval letter.

Thanks

Got PP stamped at SF. Make sure you have your CA proof of residence. No other questions asked.

NSC approved, but stamped in SF

Thanks NJ for your response.

I got my passport stamped today at SF INS. My experience was similar to others. Being Monday I expected some delay, but I was In and out within 35 minutes.

Took BART to Montgomery St.

Entered the through the Sansome street (no question asked, just went through the metal detector).
Placed the approval letter through the 200B door slot. My name was called within 5 minutes.

Officer asked for residence Id (my approval was from NSC). I gave my CA drivers license. He wrote down my address on the approval letter and asked me sign and finger print the I-551 form. I then gave my photos, passport and EAD card. He then asked me to sit down and "relax". Needless to say he was very polite.

He took them inside and within 30 minutes called my name to return the stamped passport. He kept the approval letter (luckily I made a copy of it before).

Then I had a nice breakfast at the Deli on Montgomery Street (towards BART).

The key point was that my case was approved at NSC and I could get it stamped at SF with no hassle. I have a CA drivers license, so there was no complication.

Wish you all best of luck.
