Hi Folks,
Got my PP stamped in Sacramento with the courtesy copy.
Tool J St exit on I-5N. Turned right on 7th street. There is a parking lot just after you cross L Street. This parking lot is the nearest to INS right in front of the Federal Bldg which houses INS.
Reached INS at 6:40 A.M. About 30-40 people were ahead of us. The gates opened at 7:00 A.M. Went upstairs to room 2-270, the reception. A second line had formed here. After 10-20mins, got to the front window. Showed the approval notices and got two numbers, one each for my wife and me (C314 & C315). The next stop was room 2-230, the waiting room. They had only 2 windows open. The LEDs were displaying the current numbers being processed. Our turn came at around 9:30.
We went to the counter. We told the lady at the counter that we had come for stamping, showed her our approval notices. She asked for I-94, passport and the pictures. Then she asked us to sign us a form and took our fingerprints. Stamped our passports and told us that we will receive our cards within one year. We were at the counter for around 5 minutes.
A note. We took our 5 month old baby with us. We were debating on whether to take her with us or leave her with a friend. Finally decided to take her and the stroller. We forgot to take the stroller (bad parents???). The only possibly uncomfortable place is the line outside the INS. But, there are few stone benches near where the line forms. My wife & the baby in the car-seat sat till the gates opened. Once inside there\'s no problem. There are restrooms just outside the waiting room (2-230) which has diaper changing station. The waiting room has spacious wooden benches and it\'s quite comfortable. We saw two strollers in the waiting room. So taking a baby with you is not a problem.
Good to everybody!
