Hi all !

I've just an FP notice for N400 form.
For last 3-4 years I have very callused tops of both thumbs which sometimes peel away. My doctor told me it's a not uncommon condition (form of dermatitis) and it's nothing to do about, only moisterizing etc.

Recently I was holding a glas and payed attention that part of thumb fingerprint was sort of unclear and I wonder if it can be potential problem for FP. It's only part of print for 2 fingers from 10, but I don't know if it's accepatble.

Should I notify the person in FP office and/or bring some letter from my doctor ?
Again it's not a rare condition, so I hope somebody which had simular experience can be able to share info

Thanks

for now get another cup of water and make sure you have all the facts from your doctor on paper.so if u have a problem and uscis contacts u,you will be prepaed to give them ur finger.... n||nn

Going tomorrow to ask

I am going to FP on 5/23. Since the location is close to where I live I am considering to go there tomorrow and ask inside. As I wrote, this a not uncommon condition (add to this people who do manual work and have all hand callused ) so may be the do have some answers.

May be they request some papers from doctor.

I'll post my answer tomorrow

Police Clearance

If FP are rejected twice due to "unclassifiable", they will probably ask you to provide Police Clearance from the places you have lived. That was what happened to me when I applied for GC.

august, thanks for the info (FP taken today, went OK)

I went today to INS in San Francisco to check things out. It was completely empty and receptionist asked if I would like to proceed immediately (appointment was for 5/23).

FP where taken electronically and it took like 10-15 minutes. Since it's computerized, you can see screen in front of you with your fingerprint, indication of scoring and "Passed" or "Rejected". For nearly all fingers it took few tries before it "passed". Thanks to the fact that in my case only tops of the thumbs were affected and fingerprint is mostly taken from the middle, that was OK.

Now I'll wait for few days and try to call FBI to check if namecheck is completed. BTW, anybody knows the phone number to call ?

Hi Aug2006,
How to get the police clearance certificate ?
Do we have to personally go there ? We have moved to another state.
How much time does it take ?

You can ask the technician who takes your FP if technically are OK, so they won't be rejected later on, and usually they check them carefully before they move on.
