Postponing Finger Print Date

Hi,
   I am expecting my finger print notice soon.But at the same time I have to go to india on emergency.Is there a way to postpone my finger print date?
If by chance i get the finger print notice before going to India,Can i get my finger printing done at an earlier date than the scheduled one?
