Postpone citizenship interview

Hi,
We have scheduled a vacation in June 2009 and the tickets are all booked. We applied for citizenship in last week of March 2009 and had our FP on April 28th. On last Friday we got the interview letters and guess what, our appt date is right in the middle of our vacation - June 22nd.
Is it safe to request for postponement of interview date? They mention in the letter that it can be done.
Otherwise we stand to lose around $2000 if we cancel our trip.
My DO is Fairfax, VA.
Please advice.

Just send back the interview letter with a cover note explaining the circumstances, they will reschedule you.

I did this and got a delay of three weeks as I was away from home for work.
 
Thanks man. Great to know this. Will send the letters back with a cover letter. Hopefully we will get this re-scheduled soon, especially considering the fact that they are getting the applications done at rapid speed these days.
