Posting I-485

I just recive the aproval for the I140.

Now my lawyer told me that i have to wait until the priority date of my post appear in the "visa bulleting" of the department of state.

I don't know if I can post an I-485, now, and only wait for the approval.

There is a real reason for wait to the visa bulletin??

Of course. Until there is a visa available for you (based on your cateogry, country of birth and priority date), you cannot file an I-485. What is your category, priority date and country of birth?
