Hi,

My wife may get RFE asking for Chest X-ray which we have not done due to pregnancy at the time of applying I-485.

What will INS do for my I-485 application... I am the prime applicant. She is dependent. Will they hold my I-485 due to my wife\'s RFE or will they approve my I-485 and send RFE for mywife.

Thanks for your reply.

The INS designated doctor doesn\'t perform any test on

pregnant women. However they will give a certificate states that they didn\'t perform any test because the petitioner is pregnant. This is sufficient for filing I-485. One of my friend faced the same situation and filed his I-485 without any problem. Worst case, you may get an RFE (I am not sure, please consult your lawyer).

Your wife cannot take any immunization or X-ray

So the workaround is get the immunisation report from your home country which will avoid taking immunization now.. For MMR your wife can undergo Blood test first and if it comes negative you need not have to take MMR... About TB test your wife can undergo skin test if it is negative then X-ray is not needed. If it turns out positve then you have to get the X-ray done after delivery. But you can file I-485 with the doctors remark.for that INS may send RFE.

Good Luck.

Don\'t worry. In our case..

we include included a letter (stating her pregnancy) from her OBGYN in the medical envelope. We later received an RFE for my wife for X-ray. Completed the X-ray, mailed response to RFE. VSC received it on 03/12/02 and approved both our cases on 03/18/02.

She did not take any immunizations for INS medical. We had provided records of immunizations from India.

In case of my friend, his along with his d\'ter\'s case was approved and got a RFE for medical for his wife. Her case was later approved.

Ask for a titres test if you do not have vaccination records.

There is a test called MMR titres (also called Titer or antibodies). You can go to any doctor and ask them to do a Titres test . Each of them is seperate, Measles Titres, Mums titres, Rubela titres. Most of the Indians will come as positive which means you have been vaccinated for MMR. The only thing here is each titres test may cost around 130 to 300 $$$. So make sure your ways to get around it.

We had similar situation

We had similar situation:

- Skin test was negative so no X-ray needed
- Most of the Vaccines are waived because of Indian record
- I think she needed one vaccine which was not given due to her pregnency. We may get an RFE.

Anybody with similar situation?
