post completion OPT travel question

Here is the scenario, I will be graduating this December 2011 and is planning to go back to my country for a while and go back for OPT. By the time I leave the U.S I will have:
1. My EAD card in hand, with an employment start date of 1 March 2012.
2. An offer letter from an employer that I will be working for.
3. A valid F1 visa until 2014
5. Valid travel signature in my I-20.

I plan to leave on December 2011 and go back in February 2012.

I've heard various rumors from friends that traveling under this circumstances is not allowed. However, I read from the USCIS website that this is permitted. Is this fine? Can I still go back to the U.S to work under OPT under this circumstances?
