Possible to have two EAD's at the same time? EB and FB?

My wife and I are working on putting together my family based green card stuff. She's a naturalized US citizen and now she's petitioning for me, husband.

But I already have a pending an employment based AOS, category 3. However, my employment green card is still 1-2 years away based on visa number bulletins, so we're filing family based green card application.

My question is, I already have a C9 category EAD card, valid for another 20 months (2 year card received in October). Will it cause any complications if I file for a new EAD (I-765) as part of my family based process? Is that possible to do? Right now I do plan on filing I765 with a note explaining the situation and a photocopy of my current valid EAD.

Anyone been in a similar situation? Or know the answer?

Why not. You anyway have to list the past EAD on I765 application and CIS will decide, but I don't see why they won't issue another EAD based on another I485.
