Possibility on staying in US after 7 years of L1 stay

Hi
My Husband is on L1A visa.he will comple 7 years stay in June 2012.I am on H1.
My question is

1. Can my husband tranfer to F1 and stay in US after 7 years.

2. After one year study on F1 Visa,can he apply for H1 or L1 with same company or else he has to be out of country for one year and apply work Visa.

3. Is there any other Possibilty of staying here and working ?

Since you mentioned "any", here goes.

(1) He has a USC child above 21 who sponsors him for a GC via the AOS route
(2) He divorces you, marries a USC and files for AOS

Option #2 was not there to mock or ridicule, I am just stating all the options he has to stay and work legally after his L-1A status exhausts.
