Port of entry with the sealed envelope

Hello everyone !

I have a question regarding how you're supposed to cross the border for the first time with the sealed envelope and the x-ray.

I'm French, I live in France and I had my interview at the embassy in Paris a few weeks ago. I need to make a quick trip to the US before my 6 month visa expires, then I will come back to France to settle some things before leaving for good.

And since I will be in Montreal soon, I thought I could just cross the border for a day and give them the sealed envelope and my x-ray then, at the Canadian border. But I want to make sure there won't be any problem, Am I supposed to come from France since my sealed envelop comes from the embassy in Paris or can I cross for the first time from any border ?

Thanks a lot guys !

No, it won't be a problem to enter from Canada - just make sure you allow a little bit more time to go through the immigration process. The rest of your plan (activating the LPR status and then coming back to France for a short time) is fine. Just be sure the settling things in France doesn't last more than 12 months.

Simon you did it again !
Let me just add one thing ! You don't need to take your xrays films with btw.

We were told by the consular official to take our X-rays with us and hand them to the CBP along with our sealed packet.
The CBP officer said "I don't need those, keep them for your doctor". .....
