Hi Friends,

Could anyone please share his/her recent travel experience to Canada?

Do I need a visitor's visa if I have US Green Card? Will the Canada side stamp anything on your passport?

If you are a US GC holder, you do not need a visa to enter Canada for the purpose of visiting.

If you are driving across the border, there will be no stamp on your passport during entry.

Thank you, dimple2001!

When did you last travel to Canada using your GC? I heard after 911, the border checkings at Canada are much tighter.

I believe you do not need to carry your passport if you have US green card. Few months ago I traveled to Canada via road. At that time I did not have the US green card with me but I551 stamp in my passport. I was asked a lot of questions when entering Canada by Canadian Immigration and when coming back to the US by the US immigration. But it was mainly a hassle free experience and no stamp was placed in my passport.
