Hello,
from the day you submit your application (Feb 11)

How long does it take for you to receive your first mail from USCIS (the mail containing receipt notice of your application)?,

and how long does it take for you to receive the second mail (notice for finger print)?

because I notice it took almost 3 weeks for you between the day you sent your application
to the day you do your finger print.

Thanks

I submitted my application February 7, then i recieved a letter on february 14 that my application was delievered on February 11 .
Second letter was on February 28 to do finger prints which i did it March 1 directly .
Then interview letter within a week that my interview will be in March 19

i hope you the best of luck bro
i moved to los angeles because i have heard it's faster here to get an interview still looking for a good lawyer to help me file the application if any body knows of any good lawyer that have worked with syrians please tell me
i'll try to keep up to date

Thank you bro
i wish you the best too , and about the lawyers yeah i can recommend some names on private messages , but think well before hiring any lawyer , because i hired a bad one and he gave me a really hard time until now !

hi
I am Syrian too :(

I have asked about the political asylum process few days ago.
I have 2 uncles in the US and 1 aunt (they all are US citizens).
I will graduate high school in 40 days (Bakaloria) and once I do that I will have to go to the military service and unfortunately I will have no chance for escaping unless I leave this country.
I have been arrested too for 5 days but my dad could get me out after paying thousands of dollars to the Shabi7a.
I thought about the asylum in the US but after reading stories and people experiments ,it seems too hard.
I thought about going to the US to continue my education but that was before the revolution ,now my house is Fu**ed up in Yarmuk Camp in Damascus and my dad's job has been lost so there is no chance ...

I feel like I am closing all the doors ,right?

what if I could arrive to the US before the Fuc***g army pulls me ?? do I have a chance to get political asylum?

what do you advice me guys?? can my uncles do anything for me?

best;

Please help if you have any good ideas ??

Hello all,
I’m a Syrian citizen with my family, I’m working at the U.S Embassy in Damascus and have a valid nonimmigrant visa, Since I am still working with the U.S government in addition of being a Non-Arab, I was threatened by people belonging to the two parties of the conflict here cause of my origin and the nature of my work, I’m going to leave Syria to protect myself and family. My question is; Do you recommend me to travel to another country and ask for refuge in one of the U.S Embassies or better to travel straight to U.S.A using my visa and ask for asylum there?
Note: my financial situation is not that good and I’m afraid it may not be enough to manage my life there plus the attorney’s fees.

Cheers,

Hello brother,
U.S embassy in Damascus, isn't it closed ?
anyway, asking for refugee in another embassy is a big mistake " as to my knowledge ". if i was you, i would travel directly to the States using my visa, about expenses and managing life, this is the common trouble for Asylum seeker without Working permit.
if your visa is about to end, i advise you to come and try finding organizations which can help you without fees, the problem with such organizations is you might wait on a long list before they provide you a lawyer for free.

Thank you Syrian ..

1-Yes its closed, but they didn’t separate the staff from work.
2-Do u know the lawyer’s estimate fees?
3-Do u think my situation ( my work and problems of terror in which we live) will convince them?

Lawyer fees : about 4000$ and depends .
if you come from Syria directly to USA with all documents needed you will be fine yes, because you have a good case specially that you are Kurdish as i understood from your situation .
