Kasi, your answers.

1. Do I have to send Police Verification Certificate along with the Application.
--> It is recommended to do so along with application. You can do it later also. Normally, it takes 2 months to get it from FBI in USA.
Procedure:
(1). you have to send request to FBI for blank FBI forms.
(2). then take blank form to your Police station(no charge) Or Finger print service provider agents($20 charge) and put your finger prints on fingerprint paper,
(3). and then mail them back to FBI, and then
(4). FBI will send you back saying that there is no adverse crime against you.

You can save time on step (1) by contacting local Fingerprint service provider agents. find them in Telephone directory or tell us your city name. visit www.yellowpages.com and search with name 'fingerprint', they will have blank fingerprint form for $2.

Well, if you application will pass more than 1 year(that will happen) then Canadian authority may ask you to get such FBI clearance again at the time of interview arranged.

2. I am a Indian Citizen working in US for the past 3 yrs. Do I have to get the Police Verification Certificate for India also in the Indian Embassy.
--> Yes, it is better, if you can do it with application. It also takes 45 days to 60 days. You can visit any India Embassy in USA. Apply for PCC ($20 charge) and it will take 45 days to verify. (Indian embassy guy will send/fax your application to India's city passport office, where your passport was issued). after 45 days of sending fax to India, if Indian embassy do not get anything wrong about you, they will call you and issues PCC($20 again). Total it takes 60 days. Totla charge $40.

As fars applying concern, your friend also can do it. As far as PCC receiving concern, your friend also can do it with having your original Passport. At the time fo giving PCC to you/your friend. Embassy put stamp/note in your passport also.

3.Do I have to send the Transcripts of my certificates or copies of my certificates are enough.
--> If you have multiple copy of Transcripts then you can send originals, but if you dont have multiple, then visit any notary in USA(normally in banks available for free, sometime charge too), and get your photocopies notarised and send.

As MayankDave said, visit that website and get more info, and refer past posting also.

Good Luck..

question

Since Indian embassy takes about 2 months to issue a PCC, can we try to get it from india also? is it possible?

may be we can save time if there is any possibility right?

Waiting for Initial Assessment

Since CIC is going to ask for new FBI clearance anyway, i got the prints and send the cards for FBI clearance stamp in advance (2nd time). thinking that i can save some time. Is it advisable?

thanks

I was planning on doing the same thing ie apply for India PCC and FBI in advance. Does anybody see any disavantage or drawback to this ? In worst case scenario you will only loose fees right ?
Also ppl have mentioned that when you get Indian PCC from Embassy they stamp your passport stating that. Now does that mean there is ristriction on number of times you can get PCC ?
Please inform
Appreciate it

For FBI i dont see any disadvantage is obtaining the clearance a couple of months in advance...yes we only lose few dollars if they dont accept..but the question is will they accept that or not...

and I am not sure about how many times we can get our pp stamped with PCC info....

someone please shed some light on our doubts...

thanks

btw can you post your timeline too..

PCC from India.

There are 2 ways to get PCC from India.

1. Visit passport office. Apply for PCC. with 2 or 4 passport size photographs. Passport office will send that documernts to your regional police station and then it reaches to local police station. then police man will visit your home and confirm about your presence in past there, and then reverse procedure, and you will get PCC ready from Passport office. There will be picture of yours in certificate. It takes normally 20 to 30 days. It can vary. 'Sarakari Kaam kaaj'.

2. Contact your local police staion, Explain why you need it. they will PCC kind of letter. This can be done in 2-3 days. some 'ghus' required. There will be no picture of yours in certificate.

As per me, above both should work.

Note: In PCC issued by Indian Embassy also will not have your picture sticked. so picture is not important.

Drawbacks from India.
1. Who will visit India and do it ? Is it possible for you to send someone behalf of you to apply and receive it.
(In my case, my brother got PCC from India/Ahmedabad. He is in India. He got PCC 2nd way mentioned above. I used it for USA CP GC).

No. of Stamps in passport for PCC: No need to worry.
