Police Clearance Certificates

Hi All!

Need some advice on police clearance please:

We spend 4 years overseas backpacking (or as my CV states attended the University of Lifeskills :p) returned to SA 2001. We never spend more than one year in one country. Do you think we should get a PCC for any of those countries? It seems as if the cut off is more than two years but I have seen indications of six months as well...

Thanks lots!! Keep posting - makes the wait bearable!

If you resided in any country for more than 12 months you will have to provide a PC.

You need a police clearance if you reside more than six months in a country. "POLICE CERTIFICATES: Each visa applicant at least 16 years of age must submit an original police certificate from the police authorities of the applicant's country of current residence if the applicant has resided there for at least six months after attaining the age of sixteen."

No, read the dvselectee site again. It is only 6 months if that is your current country (as your quote above indeed says$, all other countries are required for 12 months or more.

Lizzy, if you are asking this I can only assume you haven't read the dvselectee website thoroughly. Please do so - too many people have faced various problems simply through not reading the instructions properly. This info is all on there.
