Hi

I am new to this forum and i feel i am in the right place to ask question.
I was a student in India for 7 years, i completed MBBS, and i am a doctor now.

I am in NEPAL now and i might have my interview in september, Does anybody know how do i have to get the police certificate?

I can only spare one month of my time and go to India in order to obtain my police certificate, Do you think one month is sufficient to obtain INDIAN POLICE CERTIFICATE?

please if anybody had the same situation throw light on this issue and advice me.

My advance appreciation to all in this forum.

Which city/cities did you live in while in India?
I studied in Bangalore and I was able to get a police clearance certificate through the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka.
But I doubt if it will be possible for you to get one through the Indian High Commission in Nepal because Napali's don't need a visa to live in India, so the High Commission may not have records.

hi

I nstudied in Bangalore too, so do you have any idea where do i have to get my Police clearance certificate in India , Bangalore?

Well normally you have to go to the "Foreigners Registration Office" in Infantry Road and apply for it. There is another member of this forum who studied in Bangalore and he got his police certificate last August. Just read post number 11 in this thread. It will have the info you need on how to get a police certificate from Bangalore.
One problem though is this: Since you are a Napali, the procedure for you might be different, since Nepali's don't have to register at the FRO (Foreigners Resistration Office.)
I would suggest that you contact the Indian High Commission in Nepal and ask them whether it is possible for you to apply for a Police Clearance through them, just in case. You never know!

one more quetion

Dear mihiranga,

In the first NL it has mentioned the police clearance certificate should mention the duration of your stay in the foreign country, so did your police clearance certificate mentioned the duration of your stay in Bangalore?
and does the police clearance certificate has to be sealed?
Is it possible you put an attachment of your police clearance certificate or you can send me an email to suzilauki@gmail.com

I am just curious to see how does PCC from India looks like and i just want to make sure i ll get the right one.

Thanks and my 1000 appreciation in advance for sparing your precious time for me and replying to my doubts:)

My police certificate does specify the time I was living in Bangalore.
Don't worry about the format. It doesn't matter, as long as the police certificate was issued by an Indian government agency with the power to do so such as an embassy or a police commission.

You will be asked to write a letter requesting the concerned authority to issue a police clearance to you. When writing this letter, write it in such a way that it is clear to the person reading it that you want your duration of stay to be mentioned. For example if you write "please issue me a police clearance that covers the period I resided in Bangalore from 1995 to 2000" then that information will appear in the police clearance certificate that is drafted for you.
I was careful to write my own request letter in this manner.
