Hi guys
I have been living here in the US for 2 years now and I chose CP for my interview.
I emailed the embassy in Paris about the police certificate in the US and they replied and said I dont need it....isnt that strange??thats their reply:

Dear Sir,

You do not need to request a police report from the United States unless you have been arrested and therefore you will have to provide us with the court records of your arrests.

All police checks for the United States are being conducted by the US authorities.

No, not strange. Perfectly normal. They will do the US police checks automatically. Like they said, it's only if you have been arrested in the US that you will need to do anything, in which case you will need to provide court records. Generally you just need to get police clearances for every other country you have lived in for a year or more since the age of 16 (some people here say that they needed them for everywhere they have lived for more than six months, so check the rules for France).
