POE experience and subsequent steps

Still no welcome letter/plastic card

POE Detroit, 07/24/04. Officer said to wait for 6 - 9 months. Anywhere we can followup anything based on the A#?? :confused:

My POE was on 7/25 and my wife on 7/27 we received our welcome letter just last week, I hope they are going backwards so I think you should be getting in this week.

The welcome letter contains the A# the same that you have in your passport so you can check on the www.bcis.gov and the tel # is 1-800-375-5283.

I apologize for the misinformation, I misread the information actually we have receipt number (13 char) same like other INS # we need to check with that.

Do we need to change TIN to SSN for family members

Hi friends,
While in H-1, family members were in H-4 and so with IRS, TIN numbers were allotted. Now after getting the SSN for them, do we need to go to IRS office for changing this info with them? What is the procedure for this - any particular form needs to be submitted.

I think it is OK not to get, but in the long run it is better. Driver's lic., credit history etc.
