hey guys,i have got one problem,ur contribution will be really appreciated.
My name registered under Dv lottery is the same as used in my passport,i mean three names (eg paul john sykes),but in my Advanced Certificate i used only two names i mean Paul john, the last name is missing,is there any problem that can bring during my interview?
Thanks in Advance

im am 2010AF00014***

I do not think so as long as you get a letter from the college that you are the same person holding the diploma

I have already contact the college, they said they can only approve that i am the one who holds that diploma, but not approving that those names in the passport and those in the certificate are belonging to the same person,i am still doubting if it will make any difference with my current situation.
I am university Student, and during my registration they didn't even notes this different, let me hoping that consulate will understand this situation too

HEY

Boy.... how i understand your problem! I'm in a similar situation but my case is a little different.
On my e-dv, diplomas, birth certificate there are only 2 names.(eg isabelle Smith)
But on my passport there is a third name. (eg Isabelle Smith Henry) i assume it will be the same on my police certificates that will most probably be based on my passport.
Anyways i mentioned the third name under the question other names used or aliases on the forms i sent to kcc (in this case Smith Henry). To be on the safe side i am planning to explain all this in a mail to kcc.
Like i said in another thread this is due to cultural reason (born in EU but i originally from the horn of Africa) cause from where i came from we don't have family names only first names so when we come to europe or the states we use our fathers first name or our grandfather first name as our family name.(our sometimes both, it depends there is no fixed rule)
In my case these last years i have been using my father first name and later on both my father's first name and grangfather first name together as a family. Never have i though that one day i would have complications du to this story. Anyways like i said earlier i will e-mail kcc and print their reponse to take it with me on the interview day. I would advise you to do the same thing.

Good luck

Thanks bonno for you kindly advice,i should do the same.Someone adviced me to contact direct consular about my situation and they can give you a clue
of how to sort out, since they have already deal with these kind of contadiction documents before(but i am still hesitating and honestly ''scaring" of not expressing my problems b4 interview)

name issue

Hi D4ALL

Did you e-mail kcc or your embassy about the name issue.
I did. I sent an e-mail to KCC but they told me that "Kcc is not authorised to assist me on this issue and that i should contact the embassy in my region.
So based on my experience you should contact directly your embassy.

I ll tell you what the embassy tells me to do.

I hope you'll do the same.

Good luck.

Thanks bonno for your advice, and bentlebee for ur encouragement.i contacted the embassy through email 'if these differences in names can bring any problems during the interview' they replied that ''they cant gurantee that it wont let any problem but simply they will inform the consular about this '',i am still not understanding what does she means, should i relax till interview or should i find another alternative solution?
