Helllo All

My brother will graduate with a master degree in Dec 2007. He is working now from almost 1 year thru CPT ( coop program). The coop will end in may 2007.

1)please suggest if he applies for OPT now, can he use it in May after his CPT expires which means before he graduates in Dec.
2) if he cannot use OPT and the employer gives him normal payroll chk ( deducting taxes) till the time he can use his OPT(Dec 2008), would this mean a problem in the future with his greencard?
3) what is the 2 month grace period

this company is ready to do his H1. please suggest.

yes, graduate students are eligible for pre-completion OPT.

if he does not have a permission to work, but continues to work nevertheless, what do you think will happen to him? he will be out of status!

3) what is the 2 month grace period

he will have 60 days after the expiration on his I-20 or OPT card to either transfer to another program, apply for a change of status or leave the US.
