PLS. HELP. Offense before the citizenship interview?

Spouse and I have a citizenship interview scheduled for next week(02/23). After we applied for N400 and before the fingerprinting, due to stupid/minor argument between us, spouse called 911 and police came in. No arrests made but they have given each of us an NJ VNF (Victim notification form) putting each of as offender & victim of one another and I believe under domestic violence. Now, we do not know what to make of this form with as both of us are to appear for the interview at the sametime and at the same location. Has anyone gone through similar or any adivise or suggestions on how to go about this?

Looks like you both have got your Green Cards through EMPLOYMENT OF any 1 spouse, correct me if wrong. I think it won't be a big problem if you both have still a good chemistry among yourself.
Next thing you can do is to get in touch with a lawyer, make a quick consultation for $100 per hour or something, try to ask this issue. Sometimes they don't even charge and gives you advise.
The next best thing is, just appear for an interview without any hesitation, just as nothing happened. Try to explain your spouse of not doing this type of mistakes in future, since it may result in taking your child away from you. (in future ofcourse, if this kind of things happens offen). I mean every couple have arguments but still they love each other don't they ? So think about your own future before taking any steps for which you might repent later on for long time.
Try to explain interview officer this issue very clamly and nicely but with a little bit of smile on face, that depicts that you know very well that this was a silly mistake but you guys are still having strong bond and you make a good couple with lots of love for each other.

Why don't the two of you go on down to the local police station (together will look much better) and ask them what, if anything, needs to be done with the form they left with you. At that time, ask them whether it counts as a citation or not.
If it isn't a citation, then you don't need to do anything. If it is a citation, then follow kruz_patz' advice and call a competent Immigration attorney.

kruz_patz, you are correct that the GC was through EMPLOYMENT.

If anyone here has any suggestion/referral of an immigration attorney in NJ, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I am going to take your suggestion and both of us will goto the local police station and enquire about it.

If there was no arrest or charges there's no need to disclose the incident. The form they gave you is required when a domestic violence incident has been reported and is part of VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) system that is used to notify victims of crime of the offender's custody status (ex:release from prison).

Bobsmyth, there was no arrest or charges filed and you are correct that the form was VINE. Do I still need to find an immigration attorney and/or check with the local police? Or can I comfortably answer NO to the Question # 15 on N-400...

15. Have you ever committed a crime or offense for which you were NOT arrested?

Any help is appreciated.
 
Called the local police

Just called the local police and discussed the VINE form and they said that I can answer 'NO' as there is no crime or offense. I feel better now but if there is any immigration attorney referral for NJ, please let me know.

You would answer NO to question 15. Stop worrying about it. It's not an issue.

Ok then. There is no need to make any changes to the N400 at your interview for this incident.
Skip the Lawyer. There is no 'up' side to that conversation as the police have already told you that it isn't an issue. Best case, they tell you exactly what the cops told you. Worst case, they take a few hundred bucks form you and _then_ tell you that it isn't an issue.
