Hi,

I am working for company A with H1B visa. Can company B file for my green card? If so do i need H1 from Company B also? At what stage i need to join company B? Is there any issues with this? Please anybody suggest me on this.

Yes, B can file for your GC.
No need to file H from B.
U can join B at any time with valid H or EAD. After GC approval you are expected to join B...
U can join any other company on a similar jopb after I140 approval and 485 RD6+ months, and respond to the RFE accordingly. In which case U need not join B at all.
After GC , all U need to do is maintain job in similar field to justify GC is the broadest assumption people make...

Thank You very much Jaxen! This is badly needed suggestion for me and clarifies so many things.

I have some more questions, at the time of applying for I-140 and 485 i need to give INS my latest resume, pay stubs and W2 forms etc., and all of these will be from Company A. Will this be a problem?

My job title and field also should be similar at the time of applying 485?
