Hi all,

I am on H1B and in the process of starting a consulting/development corp.

1. My plan is that in the intial stages I do not directly hire any employees and just act as a middleman. My question is, does it really work?

2. What are the requirements for a company to apply for H1B for its employees?

3. Can someone suggest a good attorney for doing company business in Northern VA area, especially for a person new in this kind of business.

4. This is little unrelated but are there any software marketting companies that can sell my product?

Thanks for reading this post and your suggestions in advance.

You cannot be actively involved in any investment . You will have to stick with your present H1B Employer till you become a LPR before you can get into any business venture . " Temporary residents can only be involved in passive investments "
Here is a legal advice I was given once - There is no excuse for now knowing the law , and breaking it . It is your responsiblity to abide , and not break the law .
Here are some answers to your questions .

You need networking , contacts and a sound business mind to make some money from cash flow. It could just be on a 1099 , or you could run payroll . There are numerous options .
2. What are the requirements for a company to apply for H1B for its employees?
Business plan , revenue , show need for H1B , and you some legal help .
3. Can someone suggest a good attorney for doing company business in Northern VA area, especially for a person new in this kind of business.
There is one firm that specializes in business / immigration in FL - Tampa . PM me if you want more information . I have worked with them in the past and they are awesome !

What kind of products ? Marketing usually eats up a chunk of the revenue ... I have known people to split as much as 60% .
