Please resolve my doubt about Immigration visa

Hello all,

My sister received the appointment from the consulate and she finished the formalities of paying fees for the courier etc..her appointment date is July 11 2007.She is moving through the HammondLawfirm company.Now,the hammond lawfirm group mentioned in their site that "Retrogression is back" http://hammondlawfirm.com/alerts/no_visa_numbers_for_FY2007.htm.


So Friends what i need to know is will this affect my sister visa...

hi Jenish, My wife is also in the same situation. Her interview is scheduled on July 26th. We are suppose to submit the doucments by 12 July.

I also read the Hammond Law Firm mesage and his last statement "If you received a Visa Appointment date, we expect that the appointment will be revoked; but theoretically the DOS could have already accounted for those appointments. Therefore HLG strongly urges Beneficiaries to present to their appointment."...it sosunds optimistic but at the same time it sounds too optimistic....

I have written to VFS and Mumbai consulate but haven't heard back yet. Mumbai and Delhi websites still show dates as current.

I would appreciate if you could post any updated you have...

Hi, Some one mentioed Mumbai consulate revised the inteview schedule on 06/29. So I guess they revised after the retrogression news.If your wife's case still exists the revised schedule then I believe you should be fine.

thanks NJBLUE. You are right the Interview schedule at mumbai was revised on 06/29. http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/uploads/images/9uRZDUAnEBKVs3LMDSI0ug/apptjuly07.pdf and there are no changes to my wife's interview schedule.

I read on one of the forum that someone called up mumbai consulate on July 2, it seems they did not even know that dates have retrogressed. This makes me wonder if they really accounted for the date retrogression. I hope the guyz who come up with the interview schedule are much smarter than the ones who pick up the phones...
