Hi,
I came to US on J1 visa with 3 yrs on my passport stamp. Now I got my DS2019 extended for two more years and meanwhile I got all three NORI letters from India. I didn’t apply for waiver certificate yet.
My visa stamp on passport is expired, and if I plan to visit India, I will have to go for stamping there.

If I apply for waiver and take a case number, and visit India, will there be any problem in getting visa stamped or during re-entry into US? Or will it be better to take waiver certificate and get H1 approved and then visit India? That may take few more months to get to the stage of H1 approved and I am planning to visit India soon, which is the reason I didn’t take case number also though I got all three NORI letters. Can anyone please advice what are the DOs and DON’Ts in my case?

Thanks much!

If your Visa expires , you have to get the stamping , no matter what visa you are on
so get the stamping done and do what ever you want
