thanks for this post mamyg7. this is the reason why i am still not flying to the states as i really dont have any relative where i can stay and on the other site my financial situation is limited :(. i got to hide here in my country until i find someone who will sponsor me with at least a room.

How would you survive while seeking asylum at the same time? Nowadays it's taking too long to receive an interview notice and in some states like california it's super hard to get gigs jobs.
Many asylum seekers are struggling with that issue i.e accomodation, food and other expenses andand i thought that it might be a good idea to share our experiences on how to survive in america, you cannot run away from persecuters and then you die starving or be a homeless.

I know there are churches in almost every city in the U.S. that provide housing and food support for people, regardless of your immigration status. Also, there are plenty of housing and food aid programs for women, especially for battered women and victims of domestic violence (Like YWCA). It has branches in most cities. Of course, their aid/support might not be the best, but can serve as a bridge in times of crisis until you find a job.

In CA area, there is an organization called IRC (International Rescue Committee) that provides food and housing support for asylees, but I don't know if they can help asylum seekers. They have four offices in CA and this is the number for the one in Oakland area: 510) 452-8222. They have a vast information about asylum and they might be able to help.

keep watching craigslist go through free items there are some worth to sell again and try to catch good deals and resell with higher price .

i have done this many time and it works. at least you earn some extra money .

i go for fishing a lot which help you to spend good time and grant me:p good lunch or dinner haahahah
