Have you started an enquiry with INS regarding your case since you become current??? If so, what has been their response?

Thks

Just made the call few moments ago.

1. She said she will initiate an enquiry and we will know the results in 30 days.
2. She said that the Name Check has been done, which is not a surprise to me.
3. She also made an off the cuff remark that just because a case becomes current on 1st Apr and is otherwise ready to be adjucated doesnt mean that it will be approved within 30 days. She said I should wait for another 30 days before calling again.

Thanks for sharing.

Why were you not surprised about the name check reply?

Were you able to gauge how many months does it normally take them after PD becomes current. Shouldn't it follow the same 6 months criteria as the open class??

We look forward to what reply the INS gives to your query.

Regards

nikkasingh is your case is pre-adjucated , that's what they said?
They told me the same.My PD is current on MAY Bulletin.
Waiting and see what's happenning.Otherwise I will give a call within 2 weeks.

I was not surprised about security clearance because checks had been done pre-retrogression according to an enquiry by my lawyer late in august.

Bhutu it is possible that my case is in "pre-adj" state. However, she stressed the point that being current doesnt mean immediate approval even if everything is in order. I guess we still need to wait it out a couple of months.

Another problem is that we are going home on vacation in May end and I am travelling on parole. I dont want the approval to come in like three days before our travel date. anyone with similar experience, please let me know how you guys dealt with it, I travelled on parole before but at that time the case was retro'd and I wasnt worried about being approved just before leaving or while in India.
