Please join us in your city on May 1 to show your support for the legalization of undocumented immigrants. This is important to show the government that we must be legalized now so that we do not have to live in fear.

Thank you.

Juan

Juan.
I assume you are from Mexico. I'm from Mexico too.

Most of us if not all of the people who post in this forums came under legal channels to the US.

By supporting a boycot or a cause like yours we are not gaining too much and in the other hand we are getting afraid that if the government decides to implement path that gives status to the 11 million of illegal aliens in this country we may have a much worse impact that what already is in the time that our cases take to be approved, you got to understand that some of us have been waiting for more than 5 years be granted permanent residence!

Also we are getting afraid that the US government may decide to give your cases priority over ours and that my friend will be a terrible offense and a slap in the face to the thousands of immigrants who came legally to this country!

Many of us have been badly affected by retrogression in the priority dates, background checks and poor performance and mistakes by the USCIS. We are fed up by this situation and now the millions of people like you marching in the streets may make things even worse for all of us.

Gracias por su respuesta. Si soy de Oaxaca.
I know you may be afraid of me and other illegal immigrants, mi compadre.
Our struggle is not so much different from you and other people here. I saw one person, who told me not to come back here. But this is not the time to fight over whose struggle is more important.

We cannot be divided. We must all join hands and work together for a good immigrantion bill that give all of us a way to get US citizenship. Don't forget the wise words of Cesar Chavez. Si se puede (yes we can)!

Yeah, we can... but what is in it to us, legals? First of, i sympathize to your efforts. I think that most of legal immigrants feel that favourable decision for illegal immigrants would mean more delays in processing. Therefore i doubt you'll find much supporters here, but it always worth a try.

We are together...

It does not matter how we entered the country. You and I are both wanting to be part of this great country because we both believe in the opportunities this place gives us. The government is trying to make me and others undocumented immigrants criminals. This is not right. We do not steal, we do not kill, we do not cause trouble. We work hard and we do not want to worry everytime La Migra comes for us. We want to come out of darkness and be with others.

I never thought, said, intended to say or hinted in any way that illegal immigrants are criminals. I understand perfectly well why you are here - looking for better life, as we all do for that matter. We are not afraid of your legalization, we're just afraid that if legalization happens it would hamper our immigration process already stretched for long years for many of us. That's all.
