Please join us in your city on May 1 to show your support for the legalization of undocumented immigrants. This is important to show the government that we must be legalized now so that we do not have to live in fear.

Thank you.

It is important to know that the legal immigrants has been getting a raw deal from goverment who has no qualms against collecting taxes and filing fees, while illegal immigrants are looking for a shortcut to legalization.
Under the proposed Kennedy/McCain law, you are elegible to be a citizen/PR if you have been illegally in this country for over five years, but if you are legally working and paying taxes in this country for even over 10 years, you still don't qualify :(

It is crazy to join that rally. Those bills cause more damage for legal people.

illegal

adjective

1. Prohibited by law: illegitimate, illicit, lawless, outlawed, unlawful, wrongful. See crimes, law.
2. Of, involving, or being a crime: criminal, illegitimate, illicit, lawless, unlawful, wrongful. See crimes.

You gotta be kidding..

Let the government first legalize documented people. People have been waiting for years to get their green cards. If the government decides to legalize illegals and issue them green cards, the already slow process for current applicants will be delayed for another decade.

Here's a suggestion, take a number and get in line, i.e. leave the country and re-enter legally and apply for your GC. Then you will have my/our full support.

Remember, all the people in this forum have their reasons to be in this country. Everyone wants a better life. But there is a due process.
Back in April of 2001, the goverment issues amnesty to all illegal immigrants. This set back the immigration process (for legals) by a few years.

Why should the people who are here legally be penalized for coming into this country the right way?

And finally, you don't have to live in fear. You can always leave.

It's not easy

It is not easy to go back. I have no job back in Oaxaca and my son is doing so good in school. I have home and my family depends on me to send money home to help them. My country is poor and I have to help my family. We must stand together. This is our human right.

Ahem!

We too have been in this situation for several years and are suffering quietly. What effect did the rally have? I saw TV where people spoke both for and against it.

The only difference between you and me is that I entered this country legally, without paying a human trafficker. Does that make me a better human being? No.

You did what was best for you and your family - and in the process, you were on the wrong side of the law. I did, what I think, was good for me and my family - while still abiding by the law.

That is all. We are and will remain two different groups of suffering masses.

I feel your pain and I hope you feel mine too.

Good luck!

Please do not quote human rights to me, you have non being an illegal and neither does my son who is legal in homeland but needed to visit me in the usa to help me find a final resting place for my husbands remains ( and his father)

He was visiting his father when he became ill but had to leave the USA before 90 days other wise son would have been illegal

My son did the right thing, left the USA within the 90 days, went to embassy for a B visa and was denied as the consulate officer assumed he would become an illegal, even though he has been coming backwards and forwards for 17 years without breaking any laws

So please do not insult me by demanding human rights, you do not deserve any and why do you think you are entitled ? You are breaking the law by being illegal, you cannot get a driving license, so cannot get ins on a car, and not paying taxes I guess

Legal immigrants are getting sick and tired of hearing you illegals moaning and carrying on and begining to join forces to stand up and be counted

For those legals who wish to stand up and be counted join and support www.immigrationvoice.com and www.expatsvoice.org
