I want to file I-485/EAD/AP by myself.
Do I need any DIY kit especially for I485? Or will I be fine if I just follow the instructions? What kind of cover letter do I need.

Your help or tip will be higly appreciated.

If you are not confident about filling your own paper, a lawyer can be hired. Download the document fom the USCIS site and if you feel that it is difficult for you to understand and fill, then professional help may be sought. Also if you feel that your case is complicated, seek professional guidance.

Cover letter is just a simple letter stating what you are applying and the list of items you are including. Also file in separate envelopes if filing for more than one. Mention all EAC numbers (Like 140 EAC) clearly in the cover letter. Write the application name (Like Application To Register Permanent Residence - I485).

I am a DIY proponent.
